5 Glowing Stars for Broken Bonds

First I highly recommend reading Consensual (Club Imperial Book 1) before reading Broken Bonds. Book 2 picks up where Book 1 left off and there are quite a few things explained during the first book.

Broken Bonds is the continuation of the romantic and BDSM relationship between Nathaniel and Emmy. Emmy wakes up in the hospital after her brutal attack but she can’t remember the attack because of a blow to her head. What we do know is someone is out to destroy Nathaniel’s company along with Emmy herself. Emmy has many obstacles to try to overcome from her horrific few years under her stepfather’s brutal thumb. We finally learn the extent of the damage he caused her and why she turned to the BDSM lifestyle and became a Domme.

Nathaniel’s purpose in life is to love Emmy and do his best to keep her protected. He wants to get revenge on the people that have hurt Emmy, his brother Victor, and his business. Nathaniel knows one of Emmy’s attackers was his brother’s ex, Greg. But the second attacker is still a mystery because he was able to get away. Nathaniel isn’t a natural submissive but he does enjoy “playtime” with his Domme. He shows Emmy what true love is and helps break those bonds that tie her down.

I enjoyed this series so much. I loved the dual POV’s and it was a wonderful change to have the female Domme and male submissive. Nathaniel had his issues in the beginning wondering if what he felt when they were together was “right”. His head was telling him he shouldn’t enjoy this lifestyle but his body completely disagrees. I loved seeing his and Emmy’s relationship grow and change throughout the series.

This series had some hot, kinky scenes mixed in with some sweet, romantic moments, along with a little bit of mystery and suspense. By the end, you really wanted Emmy to be able to let go of her past and open up and let Nathaniel know who she truly is and why. There is a wonderful HEA, where everyone got what they deserved. I highly recommend reading this series.

When does book three come out?!

Book one left us with a cliffhanger and book two answers them and more. This book is so good and well written. Katherine has struck gold with this series. Her characters are well developed, they seem real, like old friends (and new!) that you want to learn more about. The scenes we love to read are so well written and aren't uncomfortable. It's like your best girlfriend is telling you about the hot nights she had with her man. The book also has the right amount of suspense and drama to keep it interesting when you aren't reading the "hot scenes".
I can't wait to read book three and beyond! Keep them coming Katherine!

Got it, read it, fixing to read it again.

Absolutely thrilled with this sequel. There were plenty of the "ahem" scenes we were all expecting (admit it, hoping for) and some really excellent twists, things I totally didn't expect. I really am going to read it again, straightaway. One thing that stands out to me: I think it's really hard to write dialogue and have it not come out sounding stilted and fake. Ms. Rhodes does a really wonderful job with dialogue and conversations in all the different voices, conveying many complexities of character. Looking forward to more from this author.

Started Playing Right Away

Have just gotten back into playing after too many years to mention. I'm attempting reading the chord method for the left hand which I've not really done before. This book offered me almost instant success in playing Christmas music...some easy and some with a bit more challenge.I would recommend for new players or redo's like me.

The best Christmas Fake-Book for beginners/intermediate pianists

This book is amazing, I misplaced my other copy so here I am buying it again. For people who have a basic knowledge of chords, or are in the process of learning chords, this book is perfect for you. If you know 10 chords then you can play zillions of Christmas songs and be the pianist at any Christmas sing-along. I use this book every Christmas.

This is one of my favorite Christmas books to use with my piano students.
The songs are written in the Key of C so beginners can enjoy learning many melodys with few sharps or flats. My advancing students can add accompaniments with the chord clues and use what they've learned in their Suzuki method studies, block chords or a great variety of patterns! It is a tool which grows with the student musically, has the words for sing along fun for the whole family, and the notes are large enough for young (and old) eyes! The price is very affordable from Amazon too!

Written with a Sense of Immediacy

This story is set in Brittany right before the Nazis take over. The main character must assume the identity of a Breton farmer so he can send important information about German activity in the area back to British Intelligence. His appearence is almost identical to the young man whom he will be replacing. Also his fluency in the Breton dialect is phenomenal, as is his ability to adapt to the local culture. However, his life is further complicated when he realizes that the man he is pretending to be was hated by his family, and generally disliked by almost everyone in the village. How will he keep his cover? The humor of the story helps to balance the darkness of the theme.

There are some objectionable elements, but they are not gratuitous and are essential to the story.

I first read this when I was in Jr. High or a Freshman around 1947-48 (it was written during WWII 1942), and thoroughly enjoyed it then, and again recently! Perhaps not a top seller, I don't know, but I liked it. I borrowed it from the High School Library....so you can know it wasn't too violent or with sexual content....at least not way back then! Probably 'loved it' way back then. :+)

One of the best authors when it comes to Intensive, Heartwrenching and Realistic

I love it, gives me a great incite on Chinese culture and history. I've been looking for a story like this, one of a kind. Many authors writing similar genres in english just can't measure up! I want to say so much more but that would be spoiling! I hope you write another historical book soon.

Suspenseful and painfully beautiful

I don't know what to say about this story. I didn't expect to like it, but once I found out who the characters were I got into it. It reminded me a little bit of The Captive Prince series.

When Shicai finds out that his father betrayed the Imperial family, causing the death of his best friend the prince, Lan Yu, Shicai sets his path to creating a world freer of corruption, hate and war that lead to his family ruin and the shatter of his heart. Xuechi is a playboy noble and no one really takes him seriously. Needless to say, Shicai and Xuechi have an antagonistic relationship, on the outside. On the inside it is something else all together.

I wish I could give this a 4 star or even less because of the not-happily ever after ending. I cried and I was angry. This is slowly developing story, with well developed characters so the wait is worth it to see how the story unfolds. Chinese names and terms are a bit hard to follow, but the author provides a glossary, and footnotes which helps a lot. I really wish there were a sequel to this work of emotional battery called art, but I know there won't be. Yeyu does a fantastic job of creating a unique world to enthrall readers. There's not a lot of action, more angst than anything. This will leave you in tears, but is still a beautiful story.

About the Author

Alex Brumbaugh worked in the addiction recovery field beginning in 1983. For ten years he was the Director of Project Recovery, the largest provider of drug and alcohol treatment services in Santa Barbara County. He was subsequently appointed Director of Project Development for the Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse in Santa Barbara, and more recently the Project Director of a Recovering Communities Support Grant from the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT).

His undergraduate education was in history and English, and his post-graduate studies included history, psychology, education, and addiction. He was formerly a teacher of American History and English in Monterey, California, and an Education Instructor for the University of California Extension in Santa Cruz. He was also an Associate Faculty Member in Human Services, Social Science, and Alcohol and other Drug Studies at Alan Hancock College in Santa Maria, California, and taught numerous workshops on addiction and recovery issues.

He worked as a private consultant to treatment programs, conducted more than 30 Certification trainings for the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association, and served on CSAT’s Consensus Panel on acupuncture and addiction. His publications include "Acupuncture: New Perspectives in Chemical Dependency Treatment" (Journal of Substance Abuse Treatment, V10 No1, pp 35-43), "Acupuncture as a Foundation for Treatment Services" (Addiction and Recovery, November/ December, 1993, pp 26-28), Transformation and Recovery: A Guide for the Design and Development of Acupuncture-Based Chemical Dependency Treatment Programs, and The Praxis of Recovery: A New Vision for Success in Addiction Treatment (2014) and "Conceptualizing Successful Long-Term Recovery from Substance Use and Addictive Disorders." (2012)

He also engaged with hundreds of private and public treatment programs throughout the United States as an education and treatment consultant for the Texas-based Recovery-Direct (FMS Productions), a producer and distributor of educational and treatment materials on substance abuse, mental health, and criminal behavior. In the final years of his life he was named Executive Director of Santa Barbara New House, the oldest and largest group of clean and sober living homes in Santa Barbara, California.

Excellent. Transparent. Covers well the Clinical practice of Auricular Acupuncture Protocol, of the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association. And even more importantly, it covers well the process and pitfalls of bringing the NADA Protocol into the various State and local treatment services that can best be enhanced by the Five Needle Protocol. Many useful examples are given, as models for reader to use in establishing new NADA 5NP Protocol practice sites.
