late plot twists

This is a KU book, which is great. The story is, for the most part, entertaining. Only towards the end did it drag. I thought it could have ended sooner than it did. I love when the hero is crazy in love with the heroine and Gray felt that way about Livia. Also he was jealous, possessive and protective, again characteristics I like in heroes.
I disliked the double standard in the story. During the initial separation, Gray slept with a lot of other women. "I drank everything and ___ anyone I could get my hands on..." Definitely a turn off. Livia, on the other hand, had no other pleasurable sexual experiences during the 5 years they were separated. While she was not celibate in the technical sense, if only viewing it from the point of good and voluntarily sexual experiences then she was. It irritates me when books are written that way. There are always excuses given as to why that is the case but of course it is the authors that control the circumstances of the story. Some of those excuses were used here. Gray was heartbroken and trying to forget the heroine and was drunk some of the times so he did not know what he was doing. Here the heroine was in an abusive relationship three years prior to them meeting up. However, she was attracted to another man during that time and visa versa and it would only be fair if she was with someone else too. That did not happen.
Also it would have been a better story if some last minute plot twists were not thrown in. It was a good story without adding extra elements around the last 20% of the story.

Love The Colloway Brothers!!

OMG! Forsaking Gray and author K.L. Kreig stunned me with Livia and Gray's story. I had one of those “duh” moments because I overlooked the obvious in the storyline/plot. Ugh, I know, had to shake my head and hit myself on my forehead for not seeing it. But also, I did another thing I rarely do in a romance, and that is I fell for the other guy instead the main hero and wanted the MC heroine to end up with him instead. That's what happens when there's a beautiful second guy who is just as worthy for the main girl's love and deserving of it. Now my only hope is that the author gives me Grant's happily ever after.
Livia has definitely gone through more than her fair share of heartbreaking betrayal by the one person that is supposed to protect her with their own life. And the one who finally saves Livia is last person you’d think. After living in a life of torment, Livia is given a new life to start over again, but the man she was in love with and engaged to marry can't be a part of it. Well, faith has a way of intervening when it comes to true love that is meant to be.
I was so happy for Gray when he sees Livia (the love of his life) at a party. For five long years, Gray has been searching for Livia. The day Gray proposed to Livia and she said yes, it made him the happiest man in the world. But, then Livia just disappears from his life. Gray's life was destroyed when he lost Livia. Never knowing what happen to the woman he loved more than life itself. And now, bam she’s there right in front of him.
This is a hard review for me, because there is so much depth to this story and I don't want to give any spoilers because K.L. Kreig has written a beautiful, very emotional story about not only Gray and Livia, but so many other characters that I fell in love with just as much as the two main characters. And yes, one of those characters is the beautiful heartthrob Grant. This man stole my heart and yes, I became very emotional about him.
I love, love all the gorgeous, sexy Colloway brothers. I highly recommend Forsaking Gray as a beautiful love story and a must read. K.L. Kreig definitely got my emotions going with Gray, Livia and Grant's story, (Yes, I had to add Grant, too) and I truly love when an author is talented enough to do that.
