First 1/2 is Valuable

I love Walter Trobish's writing. I also had the opportunity to meet and spend time talking to his wife a number of years ago and it was clear this was the woman behind the man.
Unfortunately I can't recommend this particular book. The first 2 sections (The Suffering Man and The Defensive Man) offer tremendous insights into us men. If you are a man struggling to understand yourself, or a woman struggling to understand men these sections are worth their weight in gold.
When you reach the section that should be providing answers, The Redeemed Man, it feels like the advice is just Christian cliche. It lacks real insight into a man's soul. It has the feel of being written by an outsider. When you finish the book you find this is the case.
The book was finished by Walter's wife, Ingrid, who only had a few fragments of his original thought. Walter died before he could finish the outline. It is unfortunate for his family, but also for those of us who needed his insight.
Walter will be missed, and so will the second half of this book.
