When Bill Plackett, a lonely man, on an impoverished mountain in eastern Kentucky, is abandoned by his wife and child, he begins to examine his way of life and the role that faith plays within the framework of his existence. A journey into the heart of Appalachia

Flinchum is a master of capturing the idiosyncrasies that go undetected by most of us. This book is full of quirky, but brilliant characters set against a backdrop of a laregly forgotten Appalachian culture. In a mad scramble for dominion, several fringe visionaries war over their right to become king of the mountain. Interesting read.
