This is such an amazing find!! I've been in Taipei for about a week traveling with my sister and she came across this and shared it with me. We've gone through most of the listed destinations. Albeit relatively small as far as capital cities go, it's still pretty easy to get distracted and lost in the city and be clueless about where to go/how to get there/where to eat, especially if you're not a native Chinese speaker but looking for a more local experience. The book is really good about not missing any details and even lists out the estimated duration and cost for each activity, which has been a lifesaver for planning our days out, especially since we're reaching the end of our trip and money's been getting a little tight ha! (I think the book is supposed to be aimed at younger folk traveling on a budget) Directions and maps are very helpful too for those of you that are directionally challenged
SOME OF THE MOST MEMORABLE MOMENTS:
- the bars!! Sappho Live and Ounce are very nice, super atmospheric and cool. The former is more of a live jazz bar and the latter is a really neat (albeit a little pricey) speakeasy style bar. So so so worth it. Very foreigner friendly too!
- Wulai hot springs: amazinggg hot springs, super super beautiful!! My sister and I loved it so much we're planning on going back again before we leave. I'm so glad we for this guide otherwise we never even would have known about places like this
